Kindergarten

Kindergarten Education

AGES 4-5 YEARS OLD
Your child’s academic success depends heavily on his or her kindergarten experience. In kindergarten, your son or daughter develops primary skills that lay the foundation for reading, writing, counting, and socializing.
Consequently, you need to make sure that your child attends a school where he or she receives complete attention from a kind and compassionate teacher.
At Children’s Montessori School, we offer a private kindergarten. Our small class sizes and great teachers give your child the opportunity to learn and grow at his or her own pace. We focus on individualized learning which essentially allows students to learn at their own pace with teacher direction. Teachers set goals for kids based on their learning levels, and develop individualized lesson plan for each kid.
We also offer advanced math and advanced language arts classes that will well prepare your child's success in elementary. Kids graduating from our kindergarten are way above public schools' level.

Curriculum

As children get older, they tend to see things that adults find ordinary as very interesting and special.

Children use concrete materials to learn math; movable alphabet letters to explore language; and cubes, cylinders and other objects to categorize, find spatial relationships, and more. Practical learning experiences explore key subjects including:

  • Language Arts
Language arts includes oral language development, written expression, reading, the study of grammar, creative dramatics and children's literature. Basic skills in writing and reading are developed through the use of sandpaper letters, alphabet cut-outs, and various presentations allowing children to link sounds and letter symbols effortlessly and to express their thoughts through writing.

  • Math
Mathematics makes use of manipulative materials to enable the child to internalize concepts of number, symbols, sequences, operations, and memorization of basic facts. Students will use a variety of different Montessori jobs to apply hands on activities and better understand the concepts.

  • Practical Life
Practical life enhances the development of task organization and cognitive order through care of self, care of the environment, exercises of grace and courtesy, and coordination of physical movement.

  • Sensorial
The sensorial area enables the child to order, classify and describe sensory impressions in relation to length, width, temperature, mass, color, pitch, etc.

  • Sciences, Geography, Botany & Zoology, History etc.
The scope of the Montessori science curriculum includes a sound introduction to botany, zoology, chemistry, physics, geology and astronomy. The Montessori approach to science cultivates children's fascination with the universe and helps them develop a lifelong interest in observing nature and discovering more about the world in which we live.

  • Art, Music
Music, art, and movement education are also important parts of the curriculum. They offer children ways to express themselves, their feelings, experiences and ideas.
