PreSchool
18 months to 36 moths Provides a safe, beautiful, and enriched environment for the children.

18 months to 36 months

Montessori education for 18–36 months is all about creating a warm and orderly environment where little ones can explore at their own pace, follow their natural curiosity, and practice independence in everyday activities.
At Children’s Montessori School, we support each child’s unique needs and aim to provide them with a strong and well-rounded start. We understand that starting school for the first time can be a big adjustment. We help ease this transition by creating a predictable routine and a nurturing space where children feel safe and supported. We offer guidance with important milestones such as potty training, dressing and undressing, hand washing, using utensils, and cleaning up after activities. Beyond self-care, we support the development of social skills such as sharing and cooperating, communication skills like expressing needs and emotions, and learning to follow routines and classroom rules. Additionally, we encourage concentration, problem-solving, and fine and gross motor skills—all nurtured with patience and respect to help each child grow confidently and independently.

Curriculum

Montessori curriculum has five key areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, and Cultural Studies. Each area offers hands-on materials that increase in complexity, allowing children to progress at their own pace. Learning isn’t determined by age, but by a child’s readiness to move from one skill to the next. Our teachers create individualized plans so every child spends time in all five areas while focusing on what they need most. As children grow, we adjust their plans, build on their strengths, and fill in gaps to ensure balanced, confident learning.
Practical Life invites children to act and work on real life tasks that foster both fine and gross motor skills which significantly prepare children for writing, independence, coordination, order, concentration, balance. It covers:
  • Introduction to school
  • Grace & courtesy: manners, social interactions, etc
  • Control of movement: refining movements, three-finger grasp, wrist & arm movements, etc
  • Care of environment: care of animals and plants, cleaning, etc
  • Care of self: dressing, grooming, buttoning, tying shoelaces, etc
  • Food preparation
  • Sewing

Sensorial is designed to sharpen a child’s senses and deepen their understanding of the world around them. Sensorial activities help children become aware of details by first presenting strongly contrasted sensations (e.g. red vs. blue), and then gradually introducing subtle variations (e.g. different shades of blue). Through hands-on exploration, children refine each of their senses:
  • Sight (visual)
  • Touch (tactile)
  • Smell (olfactory)
  • Taste (gustatory)
  • Sound (auditory)
  • Stereognostic sense (kinaesthetic).
These experiences not only heighten sensory perception but also build the foundation for clear thinking, classification, and a richer understanding of their environment.
